The Eurofi Berlin Forum, which gathered both physically and virtually a large group of representatives from the public authorities and the financial industry at the eve of the informal Ecofin held in Berlin, tackled many essential issues for the future of the EU economy and its financial sector.
The debates centred on the measures proposed for relaunching growth in the Covid crisis, the role that the financial sector is playing in this context and how it may be further enhanced and also how key policy initiatives such as CMU and Banking Union can contribute to this objective. Major on-going trends in the financial sector, such as digitalisation and sustainable finance, and the policies needed to support them were also examined in depth, as well as the implications of Brexit.
